Dirt Forms | "Metathesis" Show 2019

Miller Institute of Contemporary Art | Pittsburgh, PA USA

As the showcase of my senior thesis, " Dirt Forms: Understanding and Implementing an Earthen Construction Collectivism in Pittsburgh," the exhibition included drawings, models, photos, and video to convey research points on earthen construction to the everyday gallery viewer.  The gallery walls explained the history and basic science of earthen construction, as well as the societal and environmental implications of its situation in Pittsburgh. Center platforms displayed the life cycle of earth  and the various matter and materials involved.  The focal earthen wall was made to demarcate the exhibition, and demonstrate to the public the impact of earth on an interior space. After the initial show, the exhibition was adapted and displayed in Utile’s storefront gallery in Boston for the Summer of 2019.
